Life First, Then Blog

This isn't the most exciting post, but I am past due for an update! I hopped on to update pieces of the site, and realized I hadn't blogged in over 18 months (embarrassing!) When I first started The CAMI Project, I had big intentions to share our journey with Angelman syndrome to Connect, Advocate, Make a Difference, and Inspire through blogging -- and then life got in the way...

  1. I had a third baby. Enough said, right?

  2. I was working full-time and volunteering to lead the Angelman Syndrome Foundation Walk in Colorado Springs, CO (which turned out AMAZING by the way!)

  3. My husband who is still active duty has been gone a lot over the past year and a half... and, I mean, A LOT!

  4. Big sis started Kindergarten and Cami started Pre-K and maintains 5 therapies a week in addition to 3-week therapy intensive programs. Between, PT, OT, Aquatherapy, Speech Therapy, AAC Therapy, IEP meetings, gymnastics, swimming, school events, and all the things -- its busy, y'all!

  5. We got a puppy - what was I thinking?

It became too much. My health was suffering as I tried to keep up with all the things, so we decided it was time for a change. In June, I stepped down from my full-time job which was a difficult decision as my employer was wonderful and I've always loved my work. Instead, I turned my attention to dive deeper into my family and have started supporting more Angelman syndrome fundraising initiatives. We are all more balanced than ever which has been a very welcome change of pace.

I'm not sure if and when I'll pick up blogging again. I enjoy writing, sharing, and connecting so much -- but at this time, I'm focusing on getting back to health, getting Cami walking and communicating more before the start of kindergarten, and being more intentional in supporting my family. It's been a very stressful few years, and this feels right.

Until then -- find us on Instagram and Facebook!
